NETIZENS are full of praise for a food truck vendor who appreciated the hard work garbage collectors put in every day - charging them only RM1 for their drink.
Taking to social media, an anonymous person said she visits a street lined with food trucks and stalls selling multicultural delicacies during her daily lunch breaks.
As her normal stall was closed that particular day, she said she went to a Malay food truck which sold nasi lemak, traditional kuih, fried snacks and a variety of colourful drinks.
"When selecting my food, I noticed a customer who looked like an office worker who stopped by the stall and purchased a drink. The vendor charged her RM3 for the blue drink with jelly particles.
"After she left, two more customers came to the stall to buy water. I noticed that they were garbage collectors.
"They ordered the same blue drink with jelly particles as the female customer before, but the vendor said, "RM1."
The workers had surprised looks on their faces and then proceeded to purchase two more drinks, leaving the stall with huge smiles on their faces.
Puzzled, she asked the vendor, “How much is the drink?”
“RM3 per cup,” replied the vendor.
Unable to hold back her curiosity, she asked the vendor why she had only charged the trash collectors RM1.
The vendor explained: “The normal price is RM3 per cup, but their job is not easy and the weather is so hot, so I charge them a little cheaper.”
“Everyone’s life is not easy, so it is heartwarming that we are willing to take care of and help each other within our capabilities!
