KUALA LUMPUR – The government will allow sporting activities and Christmas prayers, with certain conditions in place.
For sports, Senior Security Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the sector can begin operating from January 1 onwards.
However, SOPs will depend on whether the activities are conducted in an area under the recovery movement control order (RMCO) or conditional movement control order (CMCO).
Additionally, Ismail Sabri added that the M-League would also continue its tournaments from January 1 onwards.
In RMCO areas, sporting activities and local tournaments can be held, with attendees capped at 10% of the venue’s capacity or a maximum 4,000 spectators – whichever is less.
Meanwhile, for CMCO areas, sporting activities, which include training and tournaments can take place without spectators.
However, attendees at sporting facilities cannot exceed 50% capacity.
For areas under the enhanced movement control order (EMCO) sporting activities are totally prohibited.
Meanwhile, the government will allow Christmas prayers to take place except for areas under the EMCO.
On December 24, houses of worship can conduct prayers from 5pm to 9.30pm via two sessions, with 90 minutes in between allocated for sanitisation.
On Christmas day itself, prayers must be held from 7am to 1.45pm through three sessions, with sanitisation in between.
Similarly, on December 25, close family members will be allowed to visit each other.
However, those with landed houses can only have 21 persons in their homes at one time. While those in strata properties less than 1,500 square feet, visitors cannot exceed more than 10 people at any one time.
Those with strata houses more than 1,500 square feet can have up to 15 people. – The Vibes, December 18, 2020
