SANDAKAN: Sungai Sibuga Assemblyman Datuk Mohamad Hamsan Awang Supain, 65, passed away at 11:20 pm yesterday at the KPJ Specialist Hospital here.

The Sabah Assistant Minister of Local Government and Housing was admitted to the hospital following a heart attack.

The news was confirmed by his special officer, Azizul Nasry, when contacted this morning.

Azizul said Mohamad Hamsan’s remains have been brought back to his home in Taman Kong Lok, Sandakan, for funeral arrangements.

He added that the late assemblyman’s remains will be taken to Pangiran Mosque at Mile 7 and laid to rest at the Bintang Baru Cemetery in the Sungai Manila area before the noon prayers today.

“Friends and acquaintances can pay their last respects at Pangiran Mosque, Mile 7.

“May his soul always be guided, elevated in rank, honoured, and placed among the righteous and the faithful,” he said.

Mohamad Hasan was reportedly in stable condition yesterday. - January 20, 2025
