KUALA LUMPUR – After 116 of its workers tested positive for Covid-19, Panasonic Manufacturing Malaysia Bhd will halt operations at both its factories in Shah Alam to carry out disinfection.
In a Bursa Malaysia filing today, the company said the infections were detected in a recent screening.
“The Petaling district health office has advised the suspension of operations until further notice. The company has decided to close its facilities from December 21 to 23, to allow the disinfection specialist to carry out their work.
“The company has completed a full screening of its 2,137 employees, and only 116 were found to be affected.
“The safety and well-being of our workers, as well as our community, is of our utmost priority.
“Disinfection exercises at our manufacturing premises and workers’ accommodation have been conducted regularly, with all the necessary precautionary measures strictly in place.” – The Vibes, December 21, 2020
