PRIME MINISTER Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has concluded a working visit to Singapore, where he met with his counterpart Prime Minister Lawrence Wong and paid a courtesy call on President Tharman Shanmugaratnam.

In a statement issued following the visit, Anwar said the discussions centred on enhancing cooperation in a number of critical bilateral and regional areas.

“We shared perspectives on various bilateral issues that call for deeper cooperation in the future, including matters related to borders, maritime affairs, water, renewable energy, and strategic initiatives like the ASEAN Power Grid,” said the Prime Minister.

Both parties also reviewed the progress of key collaborative projects, including the Johor Bahru–Singapore Rapid Transit System (RTS Link), which remains on track for completion by the end of 2026, and the Johor–Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ), which is set to drive regional economic development.

“God willing, this visit will yield significant benefits and amplify the outcomes of Malaysia–Singapore cooperation across various strategic sectors,” Anwar said.

“May the friendship between our two nations continue to be strengthened in the interest of shared prosperity.” - June 1, 2025
