SELANGOR police have confirmed the arrest and questioning of a well-known male actor and singer in connection with allegations of sexual misconduct involving a 17-year-old girl, in a case now being investigated under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017.
Selangor Police Chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said the suspect had only recently met the victim and took her to a hotel, where the alleged offence occurred.
“This was their first in-person meeting after about one to two months of online contact,” he said at a press conference at the Selangor police headquarters on Friday.
“The suspect was arrested, his statement recorded, and he has been released on police bail. The investigation paper is nearly complete and will be referred to the Deputy Public Prosecutor,” he added.
The victim reportedly met the suspect at a café where she worked, before agreeing to meet him at a hotel. Police are urging the public not to speculate or circulate unverified information as investigations continue.
In a separate case, police dismantled a drug syndicate believed to have been operating across the Klang Valley under the cover of an e-hailing business, arresting nine individuals and seizing narcotics worth RM5.1 million.
The main suspect, said to be in his 30s, allegedly served as the syndicate’s ringleader while working as a full-time e-hailing driver. He and eight others, including two women—one a foreign national—were detained in a series of raids between 6pm and 11.30pm on Tuesday.
“The group concealed drugs in vape liquids and fruit juice packaging to avoid detection,” said Hussein.
Six of the suspects tested positive for drug use, and three had prior criminal records related to narcotics and other offences. The group included individuals employed as a food vendor, barber, personal shopper and two unemployed persons.
Police confiscated 26kg of MDMA, nearly 5kg of ketamine, ecstasy pills and powder, drug-laced vape cartridges, and high-value items such as luxury vehicles, gold bars, branded watches and handbags. Total asset seizures are valued at RM341,000.
The suspects have been remanded for seven days and are being investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952. Police are now pursuing remaining syndicate members and tracing the source of the drug supply. - June 6, 2025
