HIS MAJESTY Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, and Her Majesty Raja Zarith Sofiah, the Queen, have extended Hari Raya Aidiladha greetings to Muslims across the country, calling on Malaysians to embrace the spirit of sacrifice with sincerity and unity.
In a message issued on Friday (7 June), Their Majesties expressed hope that all sacrificial rites would be carried out in accordance with religious principles and be accepted and blessed by Allah SWT.
“Let the spirit of sacrifice continue to unite the people in harmony, love, and universal humanitarian values,” Their Majesties said.
They also offered prayers for the safety and well-being of Malaysian pilgrims currently performing the haj in the Holy Land, and that their pilgrimage be accepted as accepted or blessed pilgrimage (haj mabrur).
In Selangor, His Royal Highness Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah and Her Royal Highness Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin also extended Hari Raya Aidiladha wishes to Muslims throughout Malaysia.
In a message posted on the Selangor Royal Office Facebook page, the Sultan expressed concern over the rise in fraudulent haj travel packages targeting Muslim pilgrims.
“It is all the more disheartening when those behind such exploitation are fellow Muslims who are willing to deceive their own brothers and sisters in faith for personal gain,” His Highness said.
The Sultan urged strict action against any individual or travel agency exploiting pilgrims under the guise of haj packages.
His Highness also reminded the public to safeguard the sanctity of the pilgrimage by ensuring all arrangements are made through licensed and authorised agents approved by the relevant authorities.
The Sultan offered prayers for the Malaysian pilgrims to complete their rituals safely and to return home blessed with accepted or blessed pilgrimage.
“In conjunction with this Aidiladha, may all Muslims express gratitude for Allah’s blessings and perform the qurban to help the less fortunate while reflecting on the hardships faced by those in need,” he said.
