PARTI Amanah Negara (Amanah) has called on all quarters to cease ongoing speculation over the position of Selangor Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari, emphasising that political stability is crucial for effective governance.

Abbas Salimmi Che Adzmi@Azmi, Amanah’s Selangor Communications Director and State Assemblyman for Sri Serdang, said the focus must remain on honouring the voters’ mandate given to the Pakatan Harapan Unity Government for a five-year term.

“Wait until the next election. The stability of the state is extremely important. Without political stability, how can we implement programmes and support the people of Selangor?” he said when asked to comment on the renewed debate surrounding Amirudin’s leadership.

He made the remarks during a community event, the ‘Kenduri Rakyat’ in Taman Tasik Seri Serdang on Sunday evening.

Abbas reminded political actors that the people had already made their decision at the ballot box, and now was the time to deliver on the promises made.

“Enough politicking. Politics should happen once every five years—at elections. The decision has been made, and the Menteri Besar is Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari. The executive council is made up of representatives from all component parties within the Unity Government.

“Let us focus on our goals for this term, as mandated by the people,” he said firmly.

He also clarified that his remarks were not intended as political campaigning for Amirudin, but rather a call for continued unity and stability among state representatives.

“I’m not campaigning for Amirudin—I’m from Amanah. But my message is clear: stability in Selangor must be preserved, and we as assembly members want Amirudin to remain in office until the end of this term,” he said. - June 9, 2025
