THE Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) is expected to conclude its investigation within one to two months into allegations of sukuk fund misappropriation involving a prominent Tan Sri and the construction of a Klang Valley expressway belived to Mex II.
MACC Chief Commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki said investigators require additional time to gather complete information and analyse documents obtained from witnesses.
“To date, 53 individuals have provided statements, and more witnesses are expected to be called in,” he told reporters on Thursday. “The statement of the individual with the Tan Sri title will also continue to be recorded today.”

Earlier, MACC’s Anti-Corruption Tactical Squad (ACTS) was reported to have arrived at the Tan Sri’s residence in Bandar Tasik Selatan with four vehicles, including two white vans, as part of ongoing investigations.
According to Azam, the expressway concessionaire remains a key witness in the case.
Charges to be brought on Sabah video clip case
Separately, Azam confirmed that charges are expected soon against at least two individuals in connection with a video clip linked to an alleged corruption scandal involving a Sabah state assemblyman.
“I will announce in a very short time the charging of the individuals in the case,” he said, declining to elaborate.
He added that the investigation paper into the Sabah case, which centres on alleged bribery related to mineral mining licences, had already been completed and submitted to the Attorney General’s Chambers for review two weeks ago.
Sources have indicated that more individuals may also face prosecution. The case gained public attention following viral videos purportedly showing discussions between several Sabah lawmakers and others concerning illicit dealings.
The Commission has confirmed that a thorough probe, including digital forensic analysis, was carried out.
Azam also addressed unrelated speculation about the location of a recent MACC interview with Datuk Jovian Mandagie, son-in-law of former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
