A 63-YEAR-old tuition teacher, Anor Suleman, has pleaded not guilty at the Sessions Court in Seremban to charges of committing physical sexual molestation against an 11-year-old female student, who is also his pupil.
The alleged incident occurred on Monday last week at a room in a house in Forest Heights, Seremban.
Anor faced the charge before Judge Datin Surita Budin at the Sessions Court in Seremban on Friday.
The charge alleged that the accused committed the act of physical sexual molestation against the young girl by inserting his hand into her clothing and touching her back, neck, and shoulder, around 8 pm on 16 June last year.
The offence is punishable under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017, which carries a penalty of imprisonment not exceeding 20 years and whipping if found guilty.
Earlier, Deputy Public Prosecutor, Nurul Balkis Zunaidi, informed the court that the relationship between the accused and the victim was that of a tuition teacher and a student.
She offered bail of RM20,000 with one surety and additional conditions.
Nurliyana Aziz, the lawyer representing the accused, pleaded for a minimum bail amount as the accused suffers from high blood pressure and has only one functioning kidney.
“The accused is a tuition teacher working with his wife and today he will be bailed by his son-in-law who is self-employed.
“The accused's health condition is not so good and requires regular care,” she said.
The court then set bail at RM12,000 with one surety, with additional conditions that the accused not interfere with the victim and the prosecution witnesses until the completion of the case, and that he must report to the nearest police station once a month.
The case is set for mention again on 12 July next for document submission. - June 20, 2025
