UNITED Sikhs Malaysia will hold a vigil - Prayer for peace and justice - for Maniishapriet Kaur Akhara, 20, who was found dead in her unit at Mutiara Ville, Cyberjaya on Tuesday morning.

In a post, the humanitarian organisation said the online vigil will be held tomorrow (June 27) on their Facebook page at 9pm.

"A young soul, full of life and light, has been taken from us too soon.

"Maniisha Kaur was a victim of a heartbreaking assault that led to her untimely passing.

"Her tragic loss has shaken our hearts, and as a community, we cannot remain silent.

"United Sikhs Malaysia invites everyone to join us in a collective prayer for peace and justice."

It was earlier reported that a female student at a private university in Cyberjaya was found dead in her home, believed to have been murdered on Tuesday morning.

The victim, who was originally from Sarawak, was found dead by a housemate with head injuries at approximately 10.28am in Mutiara Ville, Cyberjaya.

Sepang District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Norhizam Bahaman reportedly said police were analysing closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage in an effort to locate the suspect behind the murder. - June 26, 2025
