A ROADSIDE coconut water seller was injured this morning when an elderly couple’s car ploughed into her stall in front of the Kuala Kangsar district police headquarters, leaving all three individuals hurt and requiring hospital treatment.
The accident occurred around 11.35am when a Proton Saga driven by a 73-year-old man collided with a parked Honda City—belonging to the 49-year-old vendor—before crashing into the stall where she was operating.
Perak Fire and Rescue Department assistant operations director Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad confirmed that the elderly driver and his 69-year-old wife also sustained injuries in the incident.
“The vehicle, driven by the elderly man, reportedly collided with a parked Honda City belonging to the 49-year-old coconut water seller before crashing into her stall,” he said in a statement.
Emergency personnel from the Kuala Kangsar fire station arrived promptly and assisted all three victims, who were transported to hospital by ambulance. The rescue operation concluded approximately 20 minutes later.
Authorities have not disclosed the cause of the crash, and investigations are ongoing. - July 5, 2025
