THE injuries found on the body of a man who died in Taman Pandan Perdana on 22 June were the result of an accident and ongoing abuse allegedly inflicted by two suspects, police have confirmed.
According to Ampang Jaya District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohd Azam Ismail, the case did not involve loan shark activity.
“Further investigation revealed that the injuries on the victim’s body were caused by an accident and sustained abuse from both suspects,” he said in a statement on Wednesday.
Mohd Azam added that the deceased, a 37-year-old e-hailing driver, had owed one of the suspects RM120,000.
“The cause of death was due to a bacterial infection in the muscle, resulting from injuries to the skin and bone,” he said.
On the evening of the incident, at approximately 7.16pm, police received a report from a medical officer.
The victim, who had been living in a car parked in front of one of the suspects’ homes, was found deceased. A medical officer from Hospital Kuala Lumpur, who was called to the scene, confirmed the death of the local man.
Initially, the case was investigated as a 'sudden death report' (SDR), but a post-mortem later revealed elements of foul play.
Subsequently, two suspects — a 36-year-old man and his 73-year-old father — were arrested to assist in the investigation. - July 9, 2025
