AN autopsy on the elderly man found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in his durian orchard in Kuala Klawang on Wednesday revealed 152 ball bearings in his chest.

It is understood that these ball bearings originated from a single 12-bore shotgun cartridge, which penetrated the 67-year-old victim’s body.

Jelebu District Police Chief, Superintendent Azizan Said, stated that the ball bearings were discovered in the victim’s chest, identified as the cause of his demise.

He added that the post-mortem was conducted yesterday at the Forensic Department of Rembau Hospital.

“Police are still conducting further investigations into the incident, and the case has been classified as sudden death,” he said.

Earlier media reports indicated that a man died after accidentally shooting himself in his durian orchard in Kuala Klawang last Wednesday.

Police found the victim’s body lying in a pool of blood.

Azizan also mentioned that police discovered a homemade wooden firearm near the victim’s body. - July 19, 2025
