PAS Youth Chief Afnan Hamimi Taib Azamudden has left it to party delegates to determine the wing’s next line-up of leaders at the upcoming 71st PAS Muktamar this September.

Speaking to reporters after officiating the 66th Kelantan PAS Youth Annual Muktamar today, Afnan said that PAS has never encouraged the pursuit of power, but rather collective decision-making and the spirit of trust.

“In PAS, we are not taught to chase positions. I leave it to the delegates, let them and the party decide,” he said.

Afnan also acknowledged that there are many capable candidates to succeed him. He expressed hope that the new PAS Youth leadership will possess a youthful spirit, an understanding of today’s generation — particularly Gen Z — and the courage to voice youth concerns and speak out when necessary.

The central PAS Muktamar is scheduled to take place on 15 and 16 September 2025 in Kota Sarang Semut, Alor Setar, where top party positions will be contested. - July 19, 2025
