PM and UK economic expert discuss innovation and digital transformation strategy
Malaysia must address systemic challenges, bolster its digital strategy, foster innovation, and develop future skills to ensure the long-term success - August 5, 2025

PRIME MINISTER Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on Monday held a meeting with Professor Dr Mariana Mazzucato, a leading expert in innovation economics and Founding Director of the Institute for Innovation and Public Purpose at University College London (UCL), United Kingdom.

Writing on Facebook, Anwar shared that the discussion centred on the importance of a mission-oriented strategy that promotes public-private cooperation to drive green investment, technological innovation, and digital transformation.

"The need to strengthen a modern and agile public service as the backbone of national progress was also raised," he said.

According to the Prime Minister, Professor Mazzucato further expressed the view that Malaysia must address systemic challenges, bolster its digital strategy, foster innovation, and develop future skills to ensure the long-term success of its transformation agenda. - August 5, 2025
