A COORDINATED attempt by 26 Bangladeshi nationals to enter Malaysia under suspicious circumstances through Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 1 (KLIA1) has been foiled, the Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS) confirmed on Thursday.
According to a statement issued by the agency, the individuals had arrived via two separate flights from Dhaka. Intelligence reports indicated that their entry had been pre-arranged in a systematic manner, allegedly with assistance from unidentified parties.
“Upon arrival at the KLIA1 international arrival hall, the group was intercepted by the AKPS monitoring team immediately after disembarking and escorted to the AKPS operations office for further screening,” the statement said.
Investigations revealed that none of the individuals met the legal requirements for entry into Malaysia and had offered questionable justifications for their visit.
“The AKPS team acted swiftly and decisively, issuing removal orders for all 26 individuals, who were then deported on the next available flights,” it added.
The agency credited the successful interception to close coordination between its intelligence unit and on-ground monitoring team at KLIA1, calling it a demonstration of its commitment to preventing the entry of high-risk individuals who could compromise national security and public order.
“This type of firm action will continue as part of our broader strategy to strengthen border security, particularly at major entry points such as Kuala Lumpur International Airport,” the statement added. - August 6, 2025
