THE Ministry of Education has identified the establishment of an anti-bullying framework, the advancement of digital education, and the strengthening of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) as key priorities in its proposals for Budget 2026.
Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek said particular emphasis would also be placed on enhancing early childhood education and supporting students with special education needs.
“These priorities reflect the outcome of dialogues and consultations held with various education stakeholders,” she said in a statement shared via Facebook today.
“In the context of education, this budget is especially significant as it directly supports the implementation of several key national agendas currently underway, such as the Malaysia Education Development Plan 2026–2035 and the New School Curriculum 2027.”
Fadhlina also highlighted her recent engagement with Second Finance Minister Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan, describing the discussion as an important platform to articulate education-related initiatives in detail.
“Budget 2026, the fourth under the MADANI series, focuses on restoring fiscal resilience, strengthening the economic foundation, and elevating the quality of life. These goals are aligned with the principles of the MADANI Economic Framework,” she said.
She also expressed gratitude to Senator Amir Hamzah and his team for their attention to the ministry’s proposals.
“We now await Budget 2026,” she added.
According to the parliamentary calendar, Prime Minister and Finance Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is scheduled to table the Supply Bill (Budget 2026) in the Dewan Rakyat at 4pm on 10 October. - August 29, 2025
