PRIME Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has urged government agencies to expedite projects to save costs and for the public to enjoy the benefits as soon as possible.

The faster a project is completed, the more savings the public sector enjoys, said the Tambun MP.

Citing the traffic dispersal project between the Juru and Sungai Dua toll plazas, he called on the relevant parties to expedite the project.

"Road users should enjoy its benefits through a fast-track basis," said Anwar.

He noted that although the project has a four-year completion timeline and is scheduled to be finished by mid-2030, he wants the project to be completed faster.

“We must take immediate steps to expedite the process so that it can benefit the people. This requires close monitoring,” he said.

Anwar is on a two-day visit to his home state during which he will visit the gallery of the late Nordin Ahmad, a legend in the local film industry.

He will also officiate at the groundbreaking ceremony of the Madani Arowana Mosque in Permatang Pauh and attend as engagement session with higher learning institutions in Kampung Cherok Tekun.

Anwar is also scheduled to launch the state's second Urban Transformation Centre (UTC) at the Penang Sentral. - November 8, 2025
