THE Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) must continually demonstrate that its integrity and professionalism remain at the highest level to meet the expectations of stakeholders and the public, the nation’s top cop said today.
Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Mohd Khalid Ismail acknowledged that every decision and action taken by the force is closely watched by a society that demands fairness, accountability and transparency.
“Here is where we must prove that the integrity and credibility of PDRM always remain at the highest level in fulfilling and meeting the expectations of stakeholders,” he said during PDRM’s monthly assembly at Bukit Aman.
He added that PDRM’s recent success in securing the Silver Award at its first-ever participation in the Integrity, Governance and Anti-Corruption Awards (AIGA) on 22 October serves as clear validation of the force’s strengthened internal control systems, compliance culture and the commitment of its top leadership.
“This year has been particularly challenging for PDRM. Alongside hosting policing programmes at the national and international levels, we were also entrusted with ensuring the security and smooth running of prestigious government events,” he said.
“At the same time, PDRM remains committed to resolving several cases that have drawn significant public attention. Alhamdulillah, through the dedicated efforts, patience and commitment of our personnel, we have been able to uphold this responsibility with distinction.”
Mohd Khalid also emphasised that the success of the ASEAN Summit held from 26 to 27 October was the result of the collective effort of all departments and agencies involved, particularly PDRM’s Internal Security and Public Order Department (JKDNKA).
He expressed gratitude to the Director of the Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) and his team for ensuring the safe and seamless movement of dignitaries attending the summit, and extended appreciation to the Director of the Special Branch and all officers tasked with VIP security.
Taking a moment to address a recent incident, he conveyed his sympathies and prayers for the swift recovery of two traffic officers injured in an accident while on duty during the summit. - November 19, 2025
