A 73-YEAR-OLD man was found dead atop a cement tanker in Batu Kawa IN Kuching early this morning, prompting an urgent response from Sarawak’s Fire and Rescue Department.

According to a statement from the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Sarawak, the Batu Lintang Fire and Rescue Station received an emergency call at 6.10am and immediately dispatched a FRT appliance and EMRS unit with a team of 10 personnel to the scene, approximately nine kilometres from the station.

“Upon arrival at 6.20am, the team discovered the victim, Chin Choo Kiong, on top of the tanker in an unconscious state,” the statement said. Examination by the Ministry of Health confirmed that he had died from severe head injuries.

Rescue personnel used a forklift to safely lower the body from the vehicle before handing it over to the police for further investigation. - November 21, 2025
