EIGHT cleaning company agents, including a pair of siblings, appeared in the Sessions Court in Klang today, facing 174 charges related to the alleged exploitation of 43 Indonesian women last month.
Ng Thir Ngin, 45, and his sister Ng Ser Wei, 48, were joined in the dock by Mohd Syakir Hanin Mohd Wazer, 39; Ng Chun Hou, 44; Lim Xin Jie, 30; Lim Wei Jian, 28, and two Indonesian nationals, Ismaidah, 38, and Siti Nurjanah Menah, 36.
All pleaded not guilty to the charges when read before Judge Mohd Sabri Ismail.
The accused are alleged to have trafficked 43 Indonesian women, aged 20 to 44, for the purpose of labour exploitation, abusing the vulnerability of the victims in violation of the Anti-Trafficking in Persons and Anti-Smuggling of Migrants Act 2007 (Act 670), read together with Section 34 of the Penal Code. Conviction carries a maximum penalty of 20 years’ imprisonment and a possible fine.
The offences are said to have occurred on October 10 and 11 at Bandar Bukit Tinggi 2, Bandar Bestari, and Bandar Botanik in Klang.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Noor Dayana Mohamad requested bail of RM10,000 per charge and sought additional conditions for the two foreign defendants, including surrendering their passports and regular reporting to the nearest police station.
Defence lawyer Harpal Singh applied for collective bail for all the accused.
The court subsequently granted a total bail of RM470,000 and imposed the prosecution’s requested conditions on the two foreign nationals. The case is scheduled for remention on January 16 next year.
The allegations follow a police operation last month in which 49 Indonesian women were rescued during raids on five residential premises around Klang.
The women were reportedly forced to work as daily cleaning staff without pay, with some allegedly confined and closely monitored after working hours.
The rescue operation was conducted by Bukit Aman’s D3 Division (Anti-Trafficking in Persons and Anti-Smuggling of Migrants) in collaboration with the National Strategic Office under the Anti-Trafficking in Persons and Anti-Smuggling of Migrants Council (NSO MAPO) during Ops Pintas Tip, which took place from October 10 to 13. - November 28, 2025
