POLICE are searching for a group of individuals believed to have taken part in a violent clash in Selayang Jaya, Batu Caves, in the early hours of yesterday morning, where three men were attacked with weapons during what authorities describe as a riot.
Gombak police chief ACP Noor Ariffin Mohamad Nasir said officers were alerted at 12.20am to a fight that had erupted roughly ten minutes earlier.
He said the confrontation appeared to involve two groups of local men whose identities have yet to be established.
“The three victims are aged between 18 and 36. They suffered injuries and were taken to Selayang Hospital,” he said in a statement.
He added that the suspects were believed to have used weapons during the assault, though the motive for the disturbance remains unclear.
The case is being investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt with dangerous weapons and Section 148 of the Penal Code for rioting while armed with a deadly weapon.
