MALAYSIAN motorists will face a modest increase in petrol costs this week as the Government adjusts retail prices in response to surging global oil markets.
The Ministry of Finance (MoF) confirmed on Wednesday that RON97 petrol will be priced at RM3.29 per litre, while non-subsidised RON95 will rise to RM2.66 per litre from 4 December until 10 December 2025.
Subsidised RON95 petrol under the BUDI95 scheme will remain at RM1.99 per litre, while diesel prices will remain steady at RM3.08 per litre in Peninsular Malaysia and RM2.15 per litre in Sabah, Sarawak, and Labuan.
The Ministry explained that the price adjustments are calculated using the Automatic Pricing Mechanism (APM) and will continue to be reviewed in line with global oil price movements.
“Even as retail prices are adjusted, price stability remains the foremost priority,” MoF said.
Officials assured the public that authorities will maintain close monitoring of international oil trends and take necessary measures to protect the welfare of citizens in the face of global market volatility.
The minor price hike reflects the Government’s effort to balance the realities of the international energy market with domestic affordability, ensuring that petrol pricing remains fair, measured, and responsive to ongoing global developments. - December 3, 2025
