THREE charred bodies were found in a used oil processing factory in Banting, which was among four in the Olak Lempit industrial area that caught fire last night.

According to the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department, the bodies were found during the process of searching for and extinguishing remaining flames after the fire was brought under control.

Earlier, they received an emergency call at around 10 pm.

A total of 69 officers and firefighters from Banting Station, KLIA, Dengkil, Cyberjaya, Bangi, Petaling Jaya, Putrajaya and Nilai along with 12 engines, rushed to the location.

The fire involved four factories, with two of them, a used oil factory and a polymer factory, destroyed.

The fire was fully controlled at 2.30 am this morning, but operations are still ongoing.

An inspection of the fire remains is being conducted to ensure the area is completely safe.

The cause of the incident and the value of the losses are still under investigation. – January 15, 2026
