THE post-mortem of the bodies of a married couple suspected of being murdered in Sri Aman yesterday will be conducted at the Sarawak General Hospital, today.

Sarawak Police Commissioner, Datuk Mohamad Zainal Abdullah, said the post-mortem was to identify the cause of death and injuries suffered by the two victims.

"As of this morning, the police have not yet made any arrests in connection with the case," he said.

Meanwhile, Mohamad Zainal, when contacted by BuletinTV3 yesterday, confirmed that there were no signs of a break-in at the victim's residence, and that no valuables were missing from the house as reported by the victim's son.

The couple were found dead in a house in Taman Mutiara, Jalan Brayun, Sri Aman, yesterday, with serious injuries to their bodies.

Police received information from the public regarding the discovery of the couple who were unconscious at 6.55 am, and initial checks confirmed that both victims, a 45-year-old man and his 44-year-old wife, died at the scene.

The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder, and the motive and cause of the incident are still under investigation. Efforts are underway to collect evidence and witness statements.

It is understood that the victim works as a headmaster at a school in Lubok Antu, Sri Aman, while his wife is a nurse.
