KUALA Lumpur police are investigating allegations that a male actor was the victim of sexual abuse during his childhood.

Comm Datuk Fadil Marsus, the city’s police chief, confirmed that a report concerning the matter was filed on Saturday, January 31.

The complaint was lodged at a Kuala Lumpur police station at 6.11pm by a 35-year-old man.

“Police confirm that a report related to an alleged case of unnatural sex acts was received on Jan 31. The case is currently under investigation,” he said in a statement on Sunday, February 1.

The actor had previously issued a statement on social media, alleging that the abuse occurred during his childhood at the hands of an older individual, described as having a position of authority and a familial connection to him.

He explained that the disclosure was made to raise awareness about such incidents and to help protect other potential victims who may have experienced similar abuse.

The police investigation remains ongoing, with authorities urging anyone with relevant information to come forward. - February 1, 2026
