KUALA LUMPUR – The government will grant some National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) borrowers a three-month respite following a decision to extend its loan moratorium for three months.
In a statement, the Higher Education Ministry said the extension for the moratorium will only be applicable for those who fulfil certain terms and conditions.
It said borrowers still affected by the impact of Covid-19 can apply starting January 5 to March 31 for an extension on PTPTN’s website.
The moratorium extension will take effect from the month the approval is given.
PTPTN will announce the details of its implementation.
Previously, the government had implemented the PTPTN moratorium from March 19 to December 31 as a way to help alleviate the people’s financial burden.
