PKR vice-president Datuk Seri R. Ramanan has denied that he is the MP who allegedly received RM9.5 million in funds from businessman Victor Chin.

He said the allegation was baseless because he did not know the individual at all.

“How can I take money from him because I have never met this individual and do not know him? This is a corporate devil trying to manipulate the situation,” he said at a press conference today.

"Only Chin can answer who Mr R. is, but I am aware that some irresponsible individuals are trying to link me with this.

"Apparently, millions of shares were transferred to me. I do not hold any public shares - zero," he said.

In a 40-page statement yesterday, Chin alleged that an MP from PKR had requested RM10 million in cash from him in October 2025, claiming he could resolve Chin's legal troubles by speaking to the corporate mafia.

Chin claimed he paid RM9.5 million of this sum but is now demanding a full refund as his problems were not resolved.

“Please return the RM9.5 million before March 30, 2026, or I shall expose your identity,” Chin warned.

Ramanan added that any share transactions involving MPs would be detected as suspicious by financial institutions such as Bank Negara Malaysia and the Securities Commission (SC).

He also asked those who made these allegations, including the issue of share ownership, to prove the matter and not make unfounded accusations.

Ramanan also took a swipe at Pandan MP Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli, whom he claimed had a hidden agenda against him.

He described Rafizi as a former PKR deputy president and former minister who failed when he was in the Cabinet.

“It is peculiar that Rafizi is defending Chin publicly. He is a former minister who failed. What is his success? To me, he is a coward; he knows he failed, and he quickly resigned," he added. – March 25, 2026
