ELEVEN men were charged in the Sessions Court in Kuala Lumpur on Monday with being members of an organised criminal group allegedly involved in drug trafficking activities across the Klang Valley.
The accused — A Raja Ratanam, K Sunthreson, C Vijaya Kumar, N Nadarajah, T Raman, R Vijayan, M Kumaaran, N Harichandran, S Maran, Suwaran Singh and Atif Ali Khan — were separately charged under Section 130V(1) of the Penal Code for allegedly being members of a criminal organisation known as “Geng RT6”.
The group, aged between 22 and 48, nodded in understanding after the charges were read before Sessions Court Judge Izralizam Sanusi.
According to the charges, the alleged offences were committed around the Sentul area between 14 January 2020 and 27 April this year.
If convicted, they face imprisonment of between five and 20 years.
No plea was recorded as the case falls under the jurisdiction of the High Court.
Judge Izralizam fixed 24 June for further case management and ordered all the accused to be remanded until the disposal of the case.
The prosecution was conducted by Deputy Public Prosecutors Lokman Kassim and Yazid Mustaqim Roslan.
Lawyers Rajpal Singh, M Mathaban and Kevin Francis appeared for Raja Ratanam, Kumaaran, Harichandran, Vijaya Kumar, Vijayan and Maran, while two of the accused were unrepresented.
The charges come a day after Bukit Aman Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department director Datuk Hussein Omar Khan announced that police had dismantled a drug trafficking syndicate known as “Geng RT” through a special operation carried out across the Klang Valley last month.
He said the syndicate was believed to have been active since 2020 and involved in the processing and distribution of various narcotics, including methamphetamine, heroin, cannabis and ephedrine, throughout Kuala Lumpur and Selangor. - May 25, 2026
