PARTI Amanah Negara (Amanah) is betting on 13 new faces from the total of 19 candidates who will contest in the Johor State Election (PRN).

Its president, Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu, said that only six or seven candidates were incumbents of existing State Legislative Assembly (DUN) seats, while the rest were new.

According to him, most of the new candidates being put forward were young people, in addition to featuring two female candidates.

“Of these new faces, almost half are young people, while two are female candidates,” he said when speaking at the Launching Ceremony of the Johor Amanah Southern Zone Election Machinery at Taman Universiti, last night.

Also present were Johor Amanah Chairman, Aminolhuda Hassan; Johor Amanah Deputy Chairman, Dzulkefly Ahmad and Johor Amanah Vice Chairman, Suhaizan Kaiat.

Mohamad said that most of the candidates chosen were locals.

Meanwhile, Mohamad also reminded all parties in Pakatan Harapan (PH) to accept the results of the candidate selection, which will be announced by the PH Chairman next Monday.

He said that every party member must move as a team and give full support to the chosen candidate to ensure the coalition's victory in the Johor state election.

"Of course, there will be some who are unhappy, but all differences must be put to rest. We must unite and help the candidates who are being put forward to ensure PH's victory," he said.

He stressed that unity among PH component parties is very important to guarantee political stability and strengthen the people's confidence in the coalition ahead of polling day. – June 20, 2026
