Bersama to contest 15 Johor seats in upcoming state election
Party unveils plans for a digitally driven volunteer-led election operation strategy - June 22, 2026

BERSAMA has confirmed it will field candidates in 15 constituencies in the 2026 Johor State Election, framing its electoral strategy as a structured and data-driven approach aimed at maximising voter engagement and campaign efficiency.

The party, in a statement today, said its selection of constituencies was based on four main criteria.

The criteria include voter background and electoral tendencies derived from survey data collected over the past six months; levels of support for Bersama measured through membership growth and local sentiment within parliamentary divisions; suitability of prospective candidates, including party pioneers in Johor and independent applicants; and the party’s operational capability to run effective campaigns in the selected seats

Bersama will contest the Bukit Naning, Mahkota, Tiram, Puteri Wangsa, Johor Jaya, Permas, Larkin, Stulang, Perling, Kempas, Skudai, Kota Iskandar, Bukit Permai, Bukit Batu and Senai constituencies.

The party will be challenging seats currently held by representatives from UMNO, DAP, PKR and MUDA, indicating a broad multi-party contest across Johor’s key urban and semi-urban districts.

Bersama said its candidate lineup will be announced at 8pm on Friday in Johor Bahru, in conjunction with the launch of its “Kancil Truck” campaign initiative. The party said the exact venue for the event will be announced later.

In preparation for the campaign, Bersama has opened registration for Polling, Counting and Barung Agents (PACA), inviting members and members of the public to take part in its election machinery through its official portal, bersama.org, by selecting the “Join Campaign” option.

Applicants are required to log in to the party’s campaign system using a one-time password (OTP) before completing the registration process to become PACA agents.

This includes submitting documents required by the Election Commission (SPR) and undergoing mandatory training prior to deployment.

Applicants for PACA roles will be required to complete Election Commission documentation requirements and undergo formal training before deployment.

Bersama also said its integrated campaign system will be launched on Tuesday (23 June), enabling supporters nationwide to register for campaign activities based on preferred dates, times, locations and types of engagement.

The party said the system is intended to support what it described as a modern campaign model that reduces reliance on large financial expenditure by mobilising volunteers across Malaysia to support the party’s work in the 15 constituencies.

Bersama said its approach seeks to broaden participation in electoral campaigning, allowing supporters to contribute through coordinated digital and on-the-ground activities.

“For Bersama, the 2026 Johor state election is not merely a contest for seats or political positions. The party says it represents an opportunity to pioneer a political culture that is more focused on solving public problems and shaping the future of both the nation and its people.” - June 22, 2026
