PAS will finalise its position on support for Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) and deliberate on preparations for the Johor state election during a Central Committee meeting on Monday, Secretary-General Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan said.

The meeting is expected to settle several outstanding political matters, including the party's electoral strategy for the upcoming Johor polls, after PAS maintained that no official decision has yet been reached.

Takiyuddin said the party would continue to adhere to the position previously outlined by PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang until a formal resolution is adopted.

"All matters will be discussed at the meeting at PAS headquarters on Monday, including the Johor state election.

"On Monday we will make a decision, and at this moment there is no decision yet," he told reporters after the PAS Kota Bharu Division Annual General Meeting at Dewan Jubli Perak on Saturday night.

Commenting on the electoral prospects of parties contesting the Johor election and future state polls, Takiyuddin said every political party had an equal opportunity to win voters' support.

He noted that the situation was familiar, as parties within Perikatan Nasional had already contested together during the 15th General Election and the 2022 state elections.

"This is a state election. Every party has an opportunity. We are not a new coalition; we have already gone through the 15th General Election and the 2022 state elections together under Perikatan Nasional," he said.

On preparations for the Negeri Sembilan state election, Takiyuddin said PAS had begun its groundwork early and remained confident in the strength of its election machinery in the state.

He said PAS held more state seats than Bersatu in Negeri Sembilan, allowing the party to organise its campaign more comprehensively.

"In Negeri Sembilan we have more seats than our component partner, Bersatu. We have three seats while they have two, so our preparations are more comprehensive," he said. - June 28, 2026
