POLICE investigations into the disappearance of Datin Seri Pamela Ling are ongoing, with authorities continuing to verify facts and determine whether criminal elements are involved, said the Home Minister.

Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail told Parliament in a written reply that the investigation report had been submitted to the Deputy Public Prosecutor (DPP) on April 24, 2025, for review, but no further instructions had been received to date.

“The case remains an active investigation,” Oriental Daily reported him saying.

Saifuddin was responding to a question from Bukit Gelugor MP Ramkarpal Singh, who asked about the progress of the case and whether Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) officers were also being investigated, given allegations that Lim was allegedly abducted en route to the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya.

The minister said the police’s primary focus at this stage was to establish the facts surrounding Lim’s disappearance and determine whether any criminal elements were involved, based on verified evidence and witness statements.

He added that any decision to widen the scope of the investigation would depend on new evidence or further instructions from the Deputy Public Prosecutor.

Lim, 42, went missing on April 9 last year while reportedly on her way to the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya to assist in an investigation as a witness.

In May 2024, the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) opened investigations into Lim and her husband, Datuk Seri Thomas Hah Tiing Siu, over alleged corruption and money laundering.

The following month, the court granted Lim’s application for a judicial review to challenge an arrest warrant issued by the Magistrate’s Court at the MACC’s request, after she allegedly failed to appear to give a statement.

MACC said the warrant was obtained after she did not attend the scheduled questioning.

Police have previously stated that Lim has not yet been located and that extensive investigations are ongoing, with statements taken from 48 individuals to assist the probe. - July 3, 2026
