BARISAN Nasional (BN) will adopt the same campaign formula that delivered a landslide victory in the 16th Johor State Election for the upcoming Negeri Sembilan state poll, aiming to secure another strong mandate based on stability, discipline and responsible governance.

BN secretary-general Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir said the coalition would continue campaigning in a measured and disciplined manner, while steering clear of divisive politics, personal attacks and misinformation.

"We will carry the same mission into Negeri Sembilan with discipline and humility — without arrogance, abusive language or spreading slander.

"I believe the people of Negeri Sembilan will give BN fair consideration to govern the state with stability and continued progress," he told BH on Sunday.

Zambry, who is also an UMNO Supreme Council member, said the Johor campaign model would form the cornerstone of BN's strategy for the Negeri Sembilan State Election, scheduled for Aug 1.

Nomination day has been fixed for July 18, with all 36 state assembly seats up for contest.

In the 2023 Negeri Sembilan election, Pakatan Harapan won 17 seats, BN secured 14, while Perikatan Nasional captured five.

The announcement follows BN's emphatic victory in Johor, where the coalition won 48 of the state's 56 assembly seats to retain the state government with an overwhelming majority, while Pakatan Harapan secured the remaining eight seats. - July 12, 2026
