A TOTAL 859,750 out of 889,940 registered voters are eligible to vote in the 16th Negeri Sembilan State Election (PRN) tomorrow.
Election Commission (EC) Chairman Datuk Seri Ramlan Harun said that of the total, 7,391 voters have already exercised their responsibilities by postal votes.
"A total of 401 polling centres will open starting at 8 am, involving 1,668 channels, which will close at 6 pm.
"A total of 15,344 election officials will be involved in the voting process tomorrow," he said after inspecting the Negeri Sembilan PRN ballot boxes at the Tampin Perdana Hall today.
Ramlan expects the PRN results to be announced as early as 10 pm, while the full results are expected before midnight.
A total of 103 candidates will be contesting for the 36 state seats in the Negeri Sembilan PRN.
Pakatan Harapan (PH) has fielded 36 candidates, followed by Barisan Nasional (BN) with 25 candidates, Bersatu with 24 candidates and Perikatan Nasional (PN) with 11 candidates.
Barisan Jemaah Islamiah Se-Malaysia (BERJASA), Parti Orang Asli Malaysia (ASLI) and Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM) have one candidate each, while four Independents are also contesting.
A total of 21 DUNs will see a three-cornered contest, 11 DUNs two-cornered, while two DUNs each will have four and five-cornered contests. – July 31, 2026
