DATIN Seri Rosmah Mansor has filed an application to introduce fresh evidence in her appeal against her corruption conviction, with the request centred on the testimony of witness Rayyan Radzwill Abdullah.
Documents sighted by various news publications showed that Rosmah is seeking permission from the Court of Appeal to admit three documents, namely a cover letter from Messrs Shamsuddin & Co dated July 10, a police report lodged by Rayyan on the same date, and a statutory declaration also dated July 10.
In her application, Rosmah is seeking an order for Rayyan to be recalled to provide testimony before the Court of Appeal, or alternatively, for his evidence to be recorded by the High Court.
If leave is granted, she is seeking permission for Rayyan to present his evidence orally before the court.
Rosmah is also applying for a stay of her main appeal proceedings pending the disposal of the fresh evidence application.
The application is scheduled to be heard on Sept 1, which is also the date fixed for the commencement of her appeal against her conviction involving the solar hybrid project for 369 rural schools in Sarawak.
The appeal is scheduled to run for 16 days throughout September.
It is understood that during the previous case management session, the court maintained the existing appeal dates and only set aside Sept 1 to hear the latest application.
In the solar hybrid project case, Rosmah, the wife of former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, was convicted on all three corruption charges and sentenced to 10 years' imprisonment.
She was also fined RM970 million, the largest fine ever imposed by the High Court in a corruption case. - August 3, 2026
