A MAN has threatened to take legal action after a photo of his wife breastfeeding their baby on public transport was allegedly taken and circulated online without permission, drawing criticism from some.
The man, who goes by the name Amir Nafif on Threads, claimed the image was widely shared by several social media accounts that questioned his wife’s decision to breastfeed in a public place.
In a post on the platform, Amir demanded that those responsible remove the posts within 24 hours, warning that he would lodge a police report if they failed to comply.
“The person you made viral is my wife. I am asking you to delete it now. If it is not removed within 24 hours, I will proceed with a police report,” he wrote.
Amir later claimed he had identified one of the accounts allegedly involved in spreading the image and said he was considering legal action.
“Thank you to those who gave support. Someone provided the TikTok user ID, making it easier for me to proceed with legal action,” he said.
Screenshots circulating online showed posts alleging that a woman had confronted the mother for breastfeeding her baby in a public area.
The incident has since triggered debate online, with many users defending the mother and arguing that breastfeeding is a normal part of caring for an infant, especially when a baby needs to be fed.
One user, Farisya, said there was no issue with breastfeeding in public as long as the mother and child’s privacy were respected.
“I do not see anything wrong with your wife breastfeeding her baby in public. Should we allow a baby to cry and remain hungry just because they are outside? Make the report, I support you,” she said.
Another user, Vie, who identified herself as a breastfeeding mother, said not all public spaces provide dedicated breastfeeding facilities.
“I am one of the mothers who breastfeed my child. I do not think there is anything wrong with breastfeeding this way as long as it is covered.”
“Babies do not choose when they want to feed, and sometimes places do not provide special areas for mothers to breastfeed,” she said. – August 8, 2026
