KUALA LUMPUR – Federal Territories Minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa has been urged to respond to a letter sent by nine parliamentarians.

In a statement today, the elected reps said the letter sent on December 7 is on the establishment of the Federal Territories Consultation Committee (Jakowip), which is similar to the federal minister council set up by the previous Pakatan Harapan government.

“Unfortunately, until today, we have yet to receive any response from the minister (Annuar) on the matter.

“We have voiced objections against Jakowip’s reference terms, as well as asked to hold a special meeting with the minister to discuss the budget for the city hall and FT Ministry, as well as Jakowip’s terms.

“We urge the minister to provide an immediate response to our letter and call for a meeting with FT parliamentarians before the committee’s first meeting.”

The statement was signed by Tan Kok Wai (Cheras), Fahmi Fadzil (Lembah Pantai), Teresa Kok (Seputeh), Fong Kui Lun (Bukit Bintang), Datin Tan Yee Kew (Wangsa Maju), Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad (Setiawangsa), Hannah Yeoh (Segambut), P. Prabakaran (Batu) and Lim Lip Eng (Kepong), all of whom are FT parliamentarians. – The Vibes, January 6, 2021
