TWO cyclists were killed after they were struck by a car at Kilometre 9.0 of Jalan Persiaran Selatan in Putrajaya on Thursday night.

Putrajaya district police chief Assistant Commissioner Aidi Sham Mohamed said preliminary investigations found that the 40-something driver was changing lanes from the middle lane to the left lane when the car hit both cyclists at about 10.15pm.

“The victims, aged in their 40s and 30s respectively, were pronounced dead at the scene,” he said in a recent statement.

Aidi Sham said both victims suffered severe injuries to their faces and heads.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

Police have urged members of the public and witnesses with information about the crash to assist the investigation by contacting the Putrajaya Traffic Police Station at 03-8886 2138 or any nearby police station. - August 21, 2026
