UPSET that his wife was believed to be involved in a love scam syndicate that resulted in losses and debts reaching RM260,000 is believed to have triggered a man to kill his wife and two children at a condominium in Desa ParkCity, Persiaran Residen Kepong, yesterday.
The 48-year-old suspect was later found to have fallen from the residential unit.
Kuala Lumpur Police Chief Datuk Fadil Marsus said initial investigations found that the suspect was believed to have left a note on the dining table expressing regret for his wife, who was allegedly still trying to contact the individual believed to be the ‘scammer’.
“The suspect is believed to have felt that his wife’s actions had gone too far and that he was ashamed in front of their children.
“He is also believed to have incurred losses and debts totalling approximately RM260,000 as a result of the matter,” he said today.
He said police also found a knife and a pair of gloves believed to be linked to the murder.
“All the items were found in a drawer in the master bedroom and are believed to have been used in the incident,” he said.
Fadil said police were still conducting investigations to identify the true motive for the incident and to complete investigations into the tragedy.
“So far, the autopsy on the body of the nine-year-old girl was completed at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL) at about noon today. The autopsy results found a stab wound about five centimetres long on the victim's neck," he said.
He added that a second autopsy will be conducted on the wife's body and three more are expected to be conducted today, while the suspect's body is expected to be done tomorrow after the HKL forensics team goes to the scene tomorrow morning.
It was reported yesterday that four members of a family died, including three individuals suspected of being murdered, in an incident at a condominium in Desa ParkCity.
Police received a report regarding a 48-year-old man who fell from a condominium at about 3.32 pm.
According to Fadil, police then went to the location of the victim's house and opened the door of the unit with the help of the fire department and found three individuals dead in separate rooms.
He said the first victim was a 47-year-old woman who was also the man's wife, and a girl and a boy aged 9 and 7, the couple's children.
"All three victims were found to have suffered serious neck injuries," he said. – August 28, 2026
