SEVEN Yemeni nationals have been arrested after allegedly performing dangerous stunts from two moving vehicles along Jalan Sungai Besi in Kuala Lumpur yesterday.
Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Zamzuri Mohd Isa said the incident, at about 12.30am, was detected following a video of the stunt that went viral on Threads.
He said preliminary investigations found that both vehicles were travelling along Jalan Sungai Besi towards Jalan Bukit Bintang when passengers were seen sticking their bodies out of the vehicles and sitting on the windows.
“Five of them are students at a public university in Kedah, while the other two are university graduates,” he said in a statement.
Mohd Zamzuri said questioning of the drivers found that the stunt had allegedly been carried out simply for fun as they celebrated a friend’s wedding.
All the drivers and passengers involved were arrested for further investigation before being released on police bail.
The case is being investigated under Section 336 of the Penal Code for negligent or reckless acts endangering the life or personal safety of others.
Those convicted face up to three months’ imprisonment, a fine of up to RM500, or both.
Mohd Zamzuri urged members of the public or witnesses with information about the incident to assist the investigation by contacting the Tun H S Lee Traffic Police Station or any nearby police station. - August 29, 2026
