PUTRAJAYA – The first Malaysian cabinet meeting of the year went fully paperless today.
This was shared by Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali, who also posted a photo of the meeting on his social media.
Zuki said the initiative is in line with the sustainable development agenda under the Sustainable Development Goals.
On the meeting, he said Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin stressed that the government should focus on improving the quality of public health, strengthening the country's economy through the implementation of Budget 2021 as well as preserving political stability, racial harmony and national sovereignty.
Meanwhile, Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Khairy Jamaluddin said all information needed for the meeting was accessible through electronic devices.
"After transitioning for six months where we still received a box of physical papers every week, today, there is none. Everything is on a secure server accessible by our devices. Better late than never,” he tweeted. – Bernama, January 6, 2021
