King receives Singapore Foreign Minister in Johor Bahru enhancing close bilateral ties

HIS Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, today received Singapore Foreign Minister Dr Vivian Balakrishnan for an audience at Istana Pasir Pelangi in Johor Bharu.

The audience took place at Pavilion 2 of the Istana Pasir Pelangi Polo Grounds, according to a post by Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar on Facebook.

Also present were Singapore High Commissioner to Malaysia Vanu Gopala Menon and Singapore Consul-General in Johor Bahru Ng Kuan Hai.

The meeting brought together Malaysia’s Head of State and Singapore’s Foreign Minister in Johor, a state whose close geographical, economic and people-to-people links with Singapore have long been central to bilateral relations.

Malaysia and Singapore maintain extensive cooperation across areas including trade, investment, connectivity, security and cross-border relations. - September 3, 2026
