The content in question allegedly involved Yang di-Pertuan Besar Negeri Sembilan Tuanku Muhriz Ibni Almarhum Tuanku Munawir and members of the state royal family.

MCMC said a statement had been recorded to facilitate investigations under Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 (Act 588).

The commission stressed that freedom of expression must be exercised responsibly and in accordance with Malaysian law.

It said further action would depend on the findings of the investigation and the applicable legal process. - October 21, 2026
