MALAYSIA has contributed a total of €1.602 million to the International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA) from 2012 to 2026, reaffirming its commitment to strengthening international cooperation and capacity-building in the fight against corruption.
The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), which represents the country at the Vienna-based academy in Austria, has played an active role in its development through continued expertise-sharing and financial contributions since its establishment in 2012.
At the 15th Assembly of Parties meeting held recently, Malaysia stressed that strong support and close cooperation among member states were essential to ensuring the academy's continued sustainability and progress.
MACC Deputy Chief Commissioner (Operations) Datuk Sri Ahmad Khusairi Yahaya also outlined several strategic priorities for the academy in response to increasingly complex global corruption and financial crime threats.
These include the application of artificial intelligence, combating financial crime, strengthening digital investigation capabilities, corruption risk analysis and comprehensive skills and knowledge development programmes for anti-corruption enforcement officers worldwide.
The meeting was also attended by Malaysia's Ambassador to Austria, Datuk Fenny Nuli, and MACC Special Operations Division director Datuk Rasidah Abdul Ghani. - November 1, 2026
