THE body of an unidentified woman was found caught on a fishing net buoy line in Sungai Kuantan near Jalan Besar in Kuantan on Sunday.
Kuantan police chief ACP Ashari Abu Samah said police received information about the discovery from a member of the public at 12.38pm.
Initial investigations found that the woman, believed to be in her 30s, was wearing a red shirt and white shorts with black patterns.
"Further checks revealed bloody scratch marks on the victim's forehead, but no other injuries indicating foul play were found," he said in a statement.
Ashari said the body was sent to Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
The case has been classified as sudden death pending further investigations. - November 2, 2026
