THE arrest of three people over the alleged fatal beating of a wheelchair-bound elderly man in Rasah Jaya has triggered a murder investigation after footage of the assault went viral on social media.

Negeri Sembilan police chief Datuk Alzafny Ahmad said police received a report at about 10am on Thursday after a TikTok video emerged showing a man in his 60s allegedly being assaulted by several individuals before his death yesterday afternoon.

Police immediately launched an investigation under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

“A local man and two local women, aged between 28 and 34, believed to be involved in the incident, have been arrested.

“Police also seized a rubber hose believed to have been used to assault the victim, a wheelchair, a mobile phone and clothing worn during the incident,” he said in a statement.

Alzafny said firm action would be taken against all those involved, adding that a comprehensive investigation was under way.

The case came to light after a video showing two individuals allegedly beating a wheelchair-bound elderly man, believed to have been recorded at a flat in Rasah Jaya, circulated widely online.

A man affiliated with a non-governmental organisation (NGO) said he went to the location after viewing the footage and found a funeral taking place.

He said he identified the deceased as the man shown in the video, while the hurried funeral arrangements raised suspicions.

The proceedings were subsequently stopped with police assistance, and the body was taken to hospital for a post-mortem examination. - November 6, 2026
