KUALA LUMPUR – The year 2021 does not seem to be beginning well for the Perikatan Nasional (PN) administration, as its partner Umno makes further preparations to leave the coalition.
Shortly after Umno’s Machang MP Datuk Ahmad Jazlan Yaakub announced his withdrawal of support for PN and Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, Padang Rengas MP and Umno veteran Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz warned that more MPs from the party will follow suit.
As reported by FMT, Nazri further cautioned that this could result in Muhyiddin, who is Bersatu president, having to meet with the Yang diPertuan Agung – in other words to resign.
However, Nazri refused to say how many MPs are willing to make an exit.
He even refused to confirm the possibility of leaving the coalition himself.
Earlier today, Jazlan announced that he was no longer backing Muhyiddin's government.
Among the many reasons stated by Jazlan include PN's inability to administer the country and Bersatu’s apparent conniving to undermine Umno.
