KUALA LUMPUR – Malaysians who are interested to register for the Covid-19 vaccination need not wait long as it will be opened soon, said Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba.
However, Dr Adham did not say when the registration will be opened, but that Malaysians will receive two doses of the jab for full protection against the virus.
“Those who have received the first injection of the vaccine will be given a card. Keep this card.
“This is to ensure that those who have been vaccinated get a second dose according to the set date, usually within 21 days.”
He said even after getting the jab, people are still required to practise the new norms.
Malaysia is scheduled to receive the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine at the end of next month, and has received conditional approval from the Health Ministry’s National Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency.
Dr Adham said the main objective of the Covid-19 immunisation is to protect frontliners, reduce mortality, form group immunity, and further break the chain of infection. – Bernama, January 15, 2021
